Stevia is used in recipes around the world, reports indicate
that stevia has been used as a natural sweetener in Japan since the 1970's,
and American stevia products are on Canadian health food store shelves,
promoted as a sweetener. But following the guidelines of the Canadian government,
we do not promote stevia as a sweetener, only as a dietary or food supplement that
happens to be 300 times sweeter than sugar and has been safely used as such
for centuries.
Stevia can be successfully used in recipes as it does not breakdown with
heating. Stevia cookbooks will soon be available from Stevia Canada, in
