How the C.F.S.A. Began

A young Connor Pilger used to ask his mother what she did at her office. When she explained what her work involved, inevitably the word ‘stevia’ entered into the answer. "What’s Stevia?" young Connor would ask. The questions never stopped. It soon became apparent that Connor was developing a fascination for his Mom’s work. To satisfy his ever-growing curiosity, his mom would give him material to read about Stevia. Like most parents, she was happy to see Connor’s interest in things besides video games, but thought his fascination with Stevia would pass as he moved his attention on to other subjects. Instead, Connor started asking more provocative questions regarding Stevia. "If Stevia doesn’t cause cavities, why aren’t candies made of Stevia? I could have a lot of treats, right Mom?" It was at this point that his Mom informed her business partner about Connor’s questions and fascination regarding Stevia. They both thought the same thing: How do you answer a question like his? Answer with stories of politics and greed? How do you explain that to a bright 11 year old? Connor’s Mom and her business partner approached him and asked if he wanted to ask his Stevia questions to the people who make the laws regarding our food safety. His answer was "Ya! But do they know the answer?" Her answer was "Well ... go find out." and thus the C.F.S.A. was born.
