Fillers - a scam?
Fiction
It is a fact that stevia extract
(white) powder is too concentrated to sprinkle on your cereal. This is
a well known reality, not an advertising technique. To make it more
convenient we have added, yes, a filler, to our Spoonable Stevia. And
no, not all fillers are the same. There are many different types of
products that can be used to ‘dilute’ the intensity of stevia extract
powder to make it more convenient to use. We do not hide the use of
Inulin and/or Erythritol as fillers in our Spoonable Stevia. We have
carefully chosen these two products to use as ‘fillers’. They are both
healthy, diabetic safe and chosen based on their positive attributes,
solubility and convenience of use. Spoonable Stevia was created for
convenience - your convenience. If someone would prefer to try to
sprinkle stevia extract powder, using only the head of a toothpick,
then by all means, we publicly provide that product too. The choice
is yours, pure extract or Spoonable.
Rebaudioside A (RebA) is an
advertising ploy
Fiction
After many years of experience
and research it has been shown that Reb A content in a stevia extract
powder is evidence of good flavour. With backing of many researchers,
laboratories and Dr. Brandle of Agriculture Canada, who studied stevia
for 12 years, - Reb A content can dictate the flavour quality.
Is our powder 100% Reb A ?
No. That is why we have called
it Max Powder. Maximum flavour and a high level of Reb A content.
Why not use 100% Reb A content?
100% RebA content would require
a great deal of enzyme modification, more raw material and would be
very expensive. It simply would be too costly for the average consumer
to purchase.
Is Reb A the best part of the
leaf?
No, but out of all the top
quality glycosides, it is the one that is most plentiful in the leaf,
approx 4-6% of the leaf as compared to Dulcoside A which is only up to
2% of the leaf.
Is Reb A just a part of
steviosides?
No - steviosides and
rebaudioside A are two different glycosides found within the stevia
leaf, along with other glycosides and components. They are not one in
the same. A product with 85% steviosides just simply cannot possibly
also contain 85% Reb A content. It is mathematically impossible.
Do we have steviosides in our
products?
Yes - approx 6-10%.
Does only RebA dictate flavour?
No, you also need proper growing
and manufacturing procedures. Removing the stems, leaf veins, roots
and harvesting at the peak time also contribute to the flavour.
Why do some companies deny Reb A as high quality and boast the use of
no fillers.
It would be impossible to answer
for other companies and their agendas. Of course, as in all areas of
advertising, some companies must lend themselves to bashing the
competition in order to try to convince the public of their product’s
superiority. We stand behind our quality, our decisions, our knowledge
and research ..... let the product’s taste speak for itself.
Our aim is to educate
and supply the best stevia extract. We can supply you with studies,
research, claims, reports and quotes etc to back up our knowledge. Why
not try our Stevia Max powder and decide for yourself? We stand behind our
quality. If you wish further information, please email us at:
